Meet Kimberlee Smith

Meet Kimberlee Smith, our Quality Assurance Technician. Kimberlee has been with Braswell Family Farms for just five months. She passed by our mill in Nashville, NC, Googled our name, saw we were hiring, and the rest is history!

Kimberlee is based at our processing facility and ensures that all standards are being met and exceeded. Her day-to-day starts with a walk-through on our processing floor to confirm that all machinery and surfaces are clean. She then checks for cracks in the eggs coming in from our nine hen houses behind the facility. Kimberlee checks 100 eggs from each house, meaning she checks at least 900 eggs a day! She also ensures that each Eggland’s Best egg is properly stamped with a crisp “EB.” Kimberlee also helps Allyson, our Food Safety & Compliance Director, with internal and external audits.

Kimberlee has always loved animals and agriculture. In high school, she was in FFA and eventually studied animal science at N.C. State University where she was also president of the Animal Science Club.

When asked what she likes most about her role, Kimberlee responded that she enjoys being very hands-on at times, but also spending time in the office. Kimberlee also mentioned that she was drawn to Braswell for its Christian values.

A fun fact about Kimberlee is she has been married for almost one year! She and her husband were married on November 3, 2018.

As for her Braswell Family Farms eggs, Kimberlee likes them best fried in an egg sandwich with bacon and cheese.
