Meet Judge Johnson

Braswell Family Spotlight

Judge Johnson, or "The Chicken Whisperer" as some call him, has been a Braswell Family member for 10 and half years and serves as our Live Production Manager. Judge has worked in poultry industry for 45 years, after graduating from NC State with a degree in Poultry Science. 

Judge came to Braswell after several moves across seven states in his previous career. "I just wanted to come back home to Louisburg," recalls Judge and we have been fortunate to have him in our company ever since. Judge enjoys the family culture at Braswell, which he emphasizes is hard to find.

As the Live Production Manager, Judge primarily supervises the live production technicians who visit our farms daily and leads them a wealth of knowledge from his years of experience in the field while doing so. He also works closely with Allyson, our Director of Food Safety and Compliance, to ensure the welfare of birds is taken care of.

When Judge is not surrounded by laying hens, he prefers to be surrounded by water. Judge is a fisherman at heart and his most proud catch was a 12 pound large mouth bass.

Judge prefers his Braswell Family Farms eggs scrambled soft or for a sweeter option, in a homemade banana pudding.

Judge will be retiring next year and we are so thankful for his service to our company and the industry!
