Meet our Corporate Chaplain, Gerson Torres

Braswell Family Spotlight

Meet Gerson Torres, our Corporate Chaplain at Braswell Family Farms. Gerson serves as our Chaplain through Corporate Chaplains of America, an organization that seeks to “build caring relationships with the hope of gaining permission to share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ in a non-threatening manner.”

Gerson has served with CCA for eight years, after his son was miraculously healed from a two-and-a-half-hour seizure that left him in a vegetative state for about six months. During this trying time, Gerson and his wife faithfully sought God’s will and continuously prayed for healing for their son. After medication seemed to affect their son’s demeanor negatively, they decided to trust God even more and let him heal naturally - a decision that was criticized by his son’s doctor.

After about a year, Gerson’s son was completely healed and was back to walking and talking. Now, he is planning to attend Barton College on a baseball scholarship - something his doctors never thought would be possible. Gerson attributes this miracle to God alone, leading him to pursue the act of ministry full-time as a chaplain.

Prior to serving as a chaplain, Gerson studied Bible but his career path led him to the banking industry and then to managing dental practices. One day, Gerson and other members of CCA met with Braswell Family Farms’ president, Trey. After learning about the potential blessings that CCA could have on the Braswell family of employees, Trey and the leadership team decided to enlist Gerson as our corporate chaplain.

Gerson’s favorite part about his job are the people he gets to interact and build relationships with. He loves to learn about how God is working in their lives. By building those relationships and sharing the Gospel with those who wanted to learn more, 26 people were brought to Christ in 2018.

Of course, by serving as the chaplain at an egg company, Gerson eats his fair share of eggs. He says that everyone in his family likes their eggs cooked differently, but if it is up to him, he like his Braswell Family Farms eggs sunny side up.

We are so thankful to have Gerson as a member of our Braswell family and to have the opportunity to minister with those who we work with every day.
