Frozen Food Turned Protein Egg Bowl

Bowls on Bowls on Bowls

Disclaimer: this isn’t an actual recipe. Instead, we want you to know that not all healthy meals have to be freshly prepared and range from 30 minutes to an hour in cook time. We are a firm believer of homemade meals when possible and shortcuts when available, but always nutrition first.

One of the ways we accomplish this is by buying frozen vegetables or entrees and adding an egg for an easy egg bowl fix. Our highlight photo shows Bird’s Eye Superfood Blend of brown rice, barley, chickpeas, spinach, and sweet potatoes. The whole package is one serving and is only 320 calories, making it perfect for an office lunch or quick dinner.

So where does Braswell Family Farms eggs come in? The bowl itself if delicious, but by adding an egg, we increase the protein from 9 grams to 16 grams, with only adding 60 calories. This gives the bowl the power to keep you fuller longer.

*Ordinary eggs are 70 calories and 6 grams of protein, whereas the eggs we produce for Eggland’s Best have 60 calories and 7 grams of protein.

Bird’s Eye isn’t the only brand with delicious bowls ready to be transformed by eggs. Check out our list below of other frozen foods that are perfect #PutAnEggOnIt

Each of these options have their own unique flavors, so we like to vary how we cook the egg for each. Feel free to use this as a guide or cook the egg your favorite way every time!

  • Asian style - over-easy, soft boiled egg, or scrambled in stir-frys

  • Tex-Mex - scrambled or over-medium

  • Mediterranean - hard-boiled or scrambled
